What a day! I can't tell you how exciting it was too see everyone again, and meet our first timers! The weather was cooperative, the company was EXCELLENT, the fellowship fantastic... but it was all over much too quickly. The eagles put on a show! We saw the babies, both adults, Belle was in the nest for quite a while, and we witnessed a beautiful overhead soaring display by both Belle and Shep that was nothing short of amazing! At one point, I saw through the binos what I thought was a Heron because it looked to have very long legs. But as it came closer, I saw WHITE HEAD!! It was an adult with a fish in talons! I alerted everyone because I thought for sure we were going to see a fish delivery....but NOOOOOOO! It soared away! Later, however, we saw an adult flying low and fast...I think it was Belle. She flew straight to the tree, pulled back her wings, reached out her legs and landed in the attic! It was BEAUTIFUL!! And there she sat until we all had to leave.
My camera doesn't get good zoom, but a very helpful young gal named Chelsea was there with a scope, and she let everyone take a look. She even offered to try to get a picture through the scope with my camera, which you will see below! And looking through Lori's amazing zoom was awesome!
Enjoy the pictures!
